The Rustic Chalet is owned by myself Dean Mummery. I am a New Zealander who came over to France in 2013 with my family to have an easy life. An easy life did not bring in enough money, so I am now up in the French Alps, doing what I do best, turning old chalets, barns and apartments into something modern and amazing and now I am hooked…
I am an artisan French registered with the Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisanat de region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. EIRL. Siret no. 803 974 500 00016
I am registered with the Provence Chamber de Metiers because when I am not working I like to pop back down to see my family in Provence where I pretend to live the easy life.
Up in Saint Martin de Belleville, I have been fortunate to meet the most amazing tradesmen. I only work with French registered tradesmen. I have very high standards. I now work with a fantastic electrician, plumber and plasterer etc.
We over everything, from the first day of demolition to the last coat of paint to go on.
If you are looking to renovate an old barn or simply update a tired worn out apartment, give me a call. I am generally a busy man but if you have an exciting project you wish to speak with me about…go ahead. I project manage jobs from start to finish. You will not be disappointed!
The French have a good way of conducting business. You tell me what you want done and I give you a ‘devis’ or what you may call an estimate. You will need to sign this and return it to me. I can only send you a ‘facture/invoice’ based upon this devis/estimate. Should there be any changes to what was initially indicated, I will provide you with an additional devis. In this way both parties are very clear about charges. On the initial devis it indicates when stage payments are due and how these should be paid. Never think that the French are behind in their business dealings, in many ways they are miles ahead.
